Features
Offline Mode
How Bookmark keeps your library available without an internet connection.
How it works
Bookmark stores your entire library in a local database on your device. Reading, searching, and browsing your bookmarks never requires a network connection. The app loads instantly.
When you add, edit, or delete a bookmark offline, the change is saved locally immediately. When you reconnect, the change syncs to your account and propagates to your other devices.
Sync architecture
Sync is automatic and happens in the background. You don't need to trigger it manually. When you open the app after being offline, any remote changes (from other devices or the web) are pulled down, and any local changes are pushed up.
Conflicts (the same bookmark edited on two devices while offline) are resolved by taking the most recent change.
What isn't available offline
Signing in and creating an account require a network connection. Fetching page metadata (title, description) for new bookmarks requires a connection, though the URL itself saves immediately.
Mobile offline support
The mobile app uses the same local-first architecture as the desktop. Your full library is available on your phone without a connection. This is particularly useful for reading saved links while traveling or in areas with poor connectivity.
